“Tired of being treated as a captive market for corporations”

In a open letter to U of O President Gilles Patry published in this week’s Fulcrum, Wayne Sawtell, a fourth-year biology student, writes:

We also want a general shift in administration policy. Students at this university are tired of being treated as a captive market for corporations such as Starbucks, Second Cup, and Coca-Cola. As many services as possible on campus should be run by students. We call upon the university to foster this goal rather than hinder it.
